We are Hacked – Firewall Useless – Now What?

Why did we get hacked?  Is a common refrain after a breach.

Thousands of businesses got hacked last year (and this year)

as in my previous post: http://oversitesentry.com/analyzing-data-breaches-can-we-tolerate-status-quo/

We believe in our technologies, in automation in firewalls

There are many aspects of potential weakness – and all weaknesses will be taken advantage of.

The only way to find your weaknesses is to test test test.

Test the firewall for system administration port openings

patches (like the Shellshock problem),

Eventually the judgment of the Internet hackers will catch up to you… If you have tested enough or well enough or at all.

This is a hacker:

How hackers attack
How hackers attack is with the command line – with Metasploit with programs that you have never heard of before.

Do you think that your inability to use computers makes hackers less capable as well?

The exact opposite is occurring, the general public does not understand computers like the hackers do. So if there is a cybersecurity hole then it will be found.

No one will be unscathed,  Now with this in mind, the headlines of this year make more sense. millions of credit cards stolen, Personal Information on a single person is only worth $1 on the Darkweb… why ? because there is a glut of supply.

I would assume your digital identity has been stolen, because it has.

Why? because only a small percentage of people and companies are actually thwarting the criminal hackers.  It is not the other way until we get a lot better:
